Now that another Pony Platter is in the books, the Swans look ahead to the AFL Ontario.

The Women’s+ side, riding the wave of an undefeated 2024 season, the women’s+ team is poised to be a dominant force in 2025.

With lots of returning young talent and grizzled vets, the team will likely start as premiership favorites.

Coach Yaz is back behind the bench, joined by perennial All-Ontario player Charlotte Biot as Assistant Coach. The 2024 AFL Ontario Best and Fairest Fee Houssein has been tapped as Captain. The Women’s+ season will consist of 8 games, as well as opportunities to participate in the Canada Cup tournament being held in Alberta this year, and the Women’s+ tournament in Montreal.

The Women’s+ side looks well-positioned to make another deep finals run with a real shot at back-to-back championships, but they have also know that clubs will be using matches vs them to make a statement.

Men’s Team

After missing the 2023 Finals, the Men came back last year and secured 4th place with a young and hungry team as a major change in the roster has been occurring the last few years. last years rookies, have begun to some great strides with their development of home grown talent, including Swans 2024 Rookie of the Year James Young.

In order to move up the ladder, who have a 10 game schedule, will have to knock out atleast one of the Eagles, Rebels, and/or reigning back-to-back Premiers, the Toronto Rebels.

And that’s not taking into account the Garags, Wildcats and Demons – who have all worked hard over the winter to recruit local talent.

The Swans Men’s side are to be coaches by 2024 interim Coaches James Clock and Joshua LaPorta, while being Captained by everyone’s second favorite Maritimer, Andrew MacDonald.

Carn the Swans!
